McBroom helps district kids appreciate reading, music

MARQUETTE, MI--   State Representative Ed McBroom is meeting with students and teachers in his district over the next couple of weeks to celebrate reading and music.

March is National Reading Month—begun in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday—and Music in Schools Month.  McBroom visited North Elementary School in Iron Mountain Monday morning to read with the children and stopped by Norway High School to help conduct the band and share his musical experiences.

On March 20 the 108th District Representative will visit James Jones Elementary School in Gladstone and Soo Hill Elementary in Escanaba to read with the kids.

He’s also scheduled to stop by Woodland Elementary in Kingsford March 30 to celebrate reading with students there.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
