Kent State and campus activism: Chaplain Reid Hamilton

MARQUETTE, MI--   Last week an explosion rocked the internet when social media users responded en masse to Marquette Republican Dan Adamini, who said "another Kent State" may be necessary to quell

violent protests on the nation's college campuses.

Reid Hamilton is the Chaplain of Canterbury House at the University of Michigan.  He once worked at Kent State, and the Twitter and Facebook comments prompted him to drive from Ann Arbor to Marquette to speak with Adamini about his posts and about the current climate at universities around the U.S.

Hamilton took some time to speak with Public Radio 90 news director Nicole Walton.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
