ISHPEMING, MI-- A suspect is in custody after he allegedly made a threat at Westwood High School Tuesday.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office received a call from school administration around 12:45 p.m. about a potential threat. Deputies responded within two minutes. They determined the threat was credible, located a suspect, and took him into protective custody.
The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office has been contacted for possible charges.
The high school was given the all-clear to resume normal activities at 1:30 p.m.
Sheriff’s officials say Westwood had a plan in place for events like this. They say having practice drills helps during such situations.
