Investigation into MSU's handling of Nassar at an end

EAST LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   Michigan State University announced it will not be releasing thousands of documents related to the school’s investigation of convicted sex abuser Larry Nassar.

In a statement Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said the school’s decision closes the last door available for her office to finish its investigation into the school’s handling of Nassar.

State Representative Julie Brixie of Michigan’s 69th District, which includes East Lansing, says MSU’s refusal to release the documents harms Nassar survivors.

“No one is saying that something nefarious is going on that hasn't already been uncovered. What we're saying is that an independent source needs to confirm it. That's the one thing that hasn't happened at this point in time,” she says.

Board of Trustees Chair Dianne Byrum said in an email the university made the decision to maintain attorney-client privilege.
