MARQUETTE, MI— The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has hired a firm to search for the school’s next president.
In a special meeting Wednesday, the Board approved the hiring of Atlanta-based Parker Executive Search.
Chair Tami Seavoy said it’s the first pivotal step in securing a permanent president.
“A presidential search advisory committee will be assembled from the wider university community and stakeholders in the near future and the relative activities will accelerate early in the next semester, in the hope of having a new president in place by July 1st.
The Board also approved Interim President Kerri Schuiling’s amended contract. Her annualized base salary will be $402,518. When a permanent president takes office, her base salary and benefits will revert to the levels paid when she served as provost.
