COVID caseload prompts universal masking in Munising schools

MUNISING, MI— Munising Public Schools is reinstating its universal masking policy beginning Monday, January 17.

Superintendent Pete Kelto says 62 students and 12 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days. All students and staff are now required to wear a mask in school.

Officials will continue to monitor COVID cases and will lift the masking requirement when they feel it’s safe to do so.

Kelto thanks everyone for their patience and understanding as officials try to provide a safe educational environment.
