MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University officials are revising their timeline for finding a new president.
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee initially had a goal of completing the search by May 1st. That’s proven to be unfeasible because of scheduling challenges that have surfaced for the 23-member committee.
Chair Chris Greer says officials want to ensure full and active representation throughout the process, so the timeline has been pushed to September.
The new goal is to select semifinalists and conduct Zoom interviews by the time the fall semester begins and schedule on-campus interviews for finalists the week of September 12th or 19th. The NMU Board of Trustees is expected to announce its selection the week of September 26th.
