Anderton's Earth Week takes place at NMU

MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University is celebrating Earth Week this week in memory of a late professor.

John Anderton was a beloved geography professor who died unexpectedly in March of 2014.

Scheduled activities for Anderton’s Earth Week include a plogging event Tuesday, an Earth Week Fair on the first floor of Jamrich Hall Wednesday, a beekeeping presentation on Thursday, a Marquette Citizens Climate Lobby Trash Pickup on Friday, and a 5K run, bike or walk on Saturday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
