Police investigating bathroom graffiti in Westwood High School

ISHPEMING, MI— NICE Community Schools sheltered in place Monday morning after “worrisome” graffiti was found on a bathroom wall.

Students at Westwood High School found it in the women’s bathroom, prompting the district to issue a precautionary shelter-in-place order while officials looked into the incident.

Local law enforcement was called in to investigate and shortly thereafter told the district it could resume normal operations.

No other information is available.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
