Finlandia to install new president in July

HANCOCK, MI— Finlandia University has chosen a new president.

Tim Pinnow is Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at Colorado Mesa University. He was selected as the university’s 17th president following a five-month nationwide search. The vote by FinnU’s Board of Trustees was unanimous.

Pinnow graduated from Luther College, received a master’s degree at the University of Florida, and went on to teach at Saint Olaf College. He served as Founding Director of Graduate Studies at Colorado Mesa University, where he also engaged in fundraising.

Pinnow succeeds President Philip Johnson. He will assume the presidency on July 1.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
