CALUMET, MI— Attendees of Calumet’s all-school reunion last week did more than just reconnect—they gave back.

Keweenaw Report says events held during the gathering and other Reunion Association events raised $7,000, which was gifted to CLK Schools band, drama, and art departments.

The high school and middle school bands received $3,000 total, the art department also received $3,000, and the drama club received $1,000.

The teachers were excited and grateful for the money, which will be put to good use this school year.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
