MARQUETTE, MI— NMU’s Harden Hall is getting ready for updates.

The Board of Trustees recently approved a major renovation of the building. That means Olson Library will have to move to a new location temporarily. The library will reside in Gries Hall for the duration of the project—January 2024 through December 2025.

Other university services currently inside the library, including classrooms and the Students’ Art Gallery, will move elsewhere on campus. The basement and first floors of Harden, containing the Archives, tutoring offices, Fieras, WNMU-FM and TV, Audio Visual, and Technology Support Services will remain open during the renovation.

Olson Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 15th and reopen on Monday, January 15th in Gries Hall.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
