Altercation with student on bus leads to Gladstone driver's termination

GLADSTONE, MI— A substitute bus driver with Gladstone Area Schools has been fired, following an altercation with a student.

WLUC-TV says Superintendent Jay Kulbertis sent a letter to parents Tuesday. He said the incident happened Monday afternoon and that the bus driver “mishandled a behavior issue with a student.”

Kulbertis went on to say the altercation was “inexcusable and completely unacceptable for any adult that is associated with the school district.”

No injuries were reported.

The Gladstone Public Safety Department is investigating the incident.
