MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University is holding its spring commencement exercises in Marquette Saturday.
Of the 1,000 undergraduates eligible to graduate in May or August, 701 will march in the ceremony. There are also 142 eligible graduate students, with 93 planning to march.
This year's keynote speaker is educational innovator/author Milton Chen. The student speaker is elementary education major Grace Cook of Memphis, Michigan.
The graduation ceremony can be viewed live on WNMU-TV beginning at 10:30 a.m. It can also be watched online at www.nmu.edu/commencement.
