MAPS adopts new MSHS logo

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette Senior High School has a new logo to go along with its new “Sentinels” nickname.

The Marquette Area Public Schools Board of Education selected the helmet in the shape of an “M.”

More than 100 designs were submitted for consideration to the Board and MSHS Student Council. MSHS alumnus and graphic designer Matt Sia refined the final image, which was unanimously accepted by the Board. The block “M” will continue to be used alongside the new helmet.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
