Gogebic Community College

Gogebic County, MI - The Michigan State Police - Wakefield Post is teaming up with Gogebic Community College to offer a Law Enforcement Career Academy. The academy is open to individuals aged 16 and older and is for those curious about careers in law enforcement.

Participants will be mentored by MSP troopers and officers from other local law enforcement agencies. Activities will include moderate physical fitness, patrol techniques, first aid and CPR training, defensive tactics, crime scene investigation, and live, controlled scenarios. All activities will be conducted in a safe and structured environment.

To register or learn more, please contact Trooper Joe Renaud at renaudj@michigan.gov or Rebecca Bramlett, Instructor of Criminal Justice, at rebeccab@gogebic.edu.

Hans Ahlström is the host of several programs, including the daily musical variety show Weekday, the mostly straight ahead jazz show Night Studio, the self-explanatory Blues Today, and the eclectic Sound Spectrum. You can also hear Hans as the local host of NPR's All Things Considered news magazine. He also helps manage Public Radio 90's web content, interviews local and visiting writers and artists, works with NMU student interns, and writes the occasional news story.
