Threat made to Wykon employee cancels Iron Mountain Homecoming game

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— The Iron Mountain Public Schools Homecoming football game was canceled Friday, after a West Iron County Public Schools staff member was threatened.

Iron Mountain officials said the game was forfeited by the Wykons Friday morning out of an abundance of caution and respect for the safety of all students, families, and community members. They worked closely with West Iron County Schools and multiple law enforcement agencies, which determined there was no threat to the Iron Mountain community or Iron Mountain schools.

All other Homecoming activities took place as planned.
