MANISTIQUE, MI— A Manistique student was removed from school Thursday after live ammunition, a machete, and an ax were found in a vehicle.
Superintendent Matt Lukshaitis says personnel saw a loaded magazine through the windows of a vehicle driven to school. They searched the vehicle and found the machete and the ax.
Law enforcement was immediately contacted and the student was removed from campus.
Lukshaitis says at no time was there a threat to students, staff, or anyone else at the school.
The matter continues to be investigated by law enforcement.
