Statewide race results

In the one contested Congressional race in Tuesday’s primary, Republican Pete Hoekstra won the chance to oust Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow in November. 

In the 108thState Legislative District Democrat Sharon Gray secured a spot on the November ballot against Republican Ed McBroom. 

In the 109thDistrict John Kivela won over Tony Retaskie for the Democratic nomination, while Republican Jack Hubbard won his party’s spot. 

In the 110thDistrict Democrat Scott Dianda will face Republican Matt Huuki in the November general election. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
