County Jail Bond proposal: Shall the County of Houghton, Michigan, borrow the principal sum of not to exceed Eleven Million Dollars ($11,000,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds, in one or more series, payable in not to exceed twenty (20) years from date of issuance of each series, for the purpose of paying the costs of acquiring, constructing, furnishing, and equipping, additions, improvements, and remodeling of the county jail, including site improvements, appurtenances and attachments thereto? The estimated millage to be levied in 2019 is .7439 mills ($.7439 per $1,000 of taxable value) and the estimated simple average annual millage rate required to retire the bonds is .751 mills ($.751 per $1,000 of taxable value).

Chassell Township Schools sinking fund millage proposal: Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Chassell Township Schools, Houghton County, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed 0.2 mill ($0.20 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2020 to 2029, inclusive, to create a sinking fund for the construction or repair of school buildings, for school security improvements, for the acquisition or upgrading of technology and all other purposes authorized by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2020 is approximately $12,035?
