AP FACT CHECK: Wisconsin election probe ignores some facts

Michael Gableman

MADISON, WI (AP)— An AP Fact Check has examined claims about election fraud in a report by an investigator who voted for Donald Trump and was hired by the Republican speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly.

Many of the claims from former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice Michael Gableman have been dismissed by courts or rejected by the state’s bipartisan Election Commission. The report released Tuesday by Gableman also comes up with nothing that throws the election won by President Joe Biden into legitimate question.

Gableman told legislators that they should “take a very hard look” at decertifying the 2020 results, something that nonpartisan legislative attorneys have said is impossible.
