ESCANABA, MI— Three Delta County commissioners were recalled by wide margins Tuesday. Robert Barron, David Moyle, and Robert Petersen were targeted for recall after they voted to fire County Administrator Emily DeSalvo in 2023. She had publicly questioned the ethical behavior of some members of the board.

In District 3, Myra Croasdell defeated Barron with 73 percent of the vote. In District 4, Board Chair Moyle was defeated by Kelli Van Ginhoven, who received 72 percent of the vote. And in District 5, Matt Jensen received 72 percent of the vote, while Petersen got 27 percent.

A total of 4,550 Delta County voters participated in the election.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
