Early voting in Marquette County sets record

MARQUETTE, MI— A new record for early voting has been set in Marquette County.

WLUC-TV reports Marquette County Clerk Linda Talsma says 5,181 voters had already hit the polls by Monday. The early voting period ran from October 24 and ended Sunday.

Talsma expects wait times at the polls will be lessened as a result of so many people voting early.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., local time. Public Radio 90 will have results from Tuesday’s election Wednesday during Morning Edition.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
