ISHPEMING & HANCOCK, MI— Upper Peninsula Power Company is holding two open houses to demonstrate how it plans to meet Michigan’s new clean energy standards.
Officials will provide an update on the company’s current renewable generation projects and explain its Integrated Resource Plan, which outlines an electric utility’s future electric generation resource strategy.
The first open house takes place October 22 at River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming. The second will be held October 23 at the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock. Both begin at 6 p.m.
A short presentation will outline Michigan’s current energy legislation, UPPCO’s planned solar projects, and a review of upcoming IPR efforts. Residents will also be able to meet with officials from various UPPCO departments.
