Harvest Fest comes to Baraga Avenue

MARQUETTE, MI--   A portion of Baraga Avenue in Marquette will be blocked off for a while to accommodate Harvest Fest this weekend. 

The 100 block of Baraga is closed to overnight parking Friday and will close to all traffic at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Second Annual Baraga Avenue Harvest Fest starts at 3 p.m. and features a chalk painting contest, a big equipment petting zoo, a pasty eating contest, live music, and more.  For more information, go to www.downtownmarquette.org.

West Baraga Avenue will reopen at 11 p.m. Saturday. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
