Get rid of old electronics in Marquette Tuesday

MARQUETTE, MI--   An electronic waste collection is being held at Lakeview Arena in Marquette Tuesday.

Community residents are welcome to bring all computers and related items, laptops, tablets, printers, CRT TVs and flat-screen TVs, computer monitors, scanners, fax machines, cell phones, DVD and CD players, and stereo equipment.

The free event takes place from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Arena. Enter on Fair Avenue and exit on Pine Street.

The event is made possible by Comprenew and the electronic manufacturers that support the Michigan Electronics Takeback Program coordinated by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
