Heikki Lunta Winter Festival on tap February 3rd & 4th

NEGAUNEE, MI— Heikki Lunta is coming to play in Negaunee over the next couple of days.

The winter festival kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. with the lighting of the bonfire at Tobin and Iron Streets. Events include the Irontown Rail Jam, a lantern snowshoe tour of Old Town, and a tunnel of lights.

Saturday features an ice fishing tournament on Teal Lake, public sliding at the U.P. Luge Club, and the Freeze Yer Fanny Fatbike Race.

Fireworks will close out the weekend’s activities at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
