Marquette and Grand Marais celebrating sled dogs this weekend

MARQUETTE, MI— Even though the UP200 Powered by NMU, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 aren’t being held this weekend, Marquette and Grand Marais are still celebrating.

The Festival of the Sled Dog is being held from 7-9 Friday night in downtown Marquette. Activities include dog sled demonstrations and rides, face painting, and a live band.

Grand Marais is holding Winterfest all day Saturday. The event features open ice skating, bonfires, cardboard sled races, and bingo.

More information about this weekend’s activities is at www.up200.org.
