MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette’s Independence Day celebration will have something special this year.

In addition to traditional fireworks on Monday, July 3rd, the city’s Fourth of July Committee has added a laser light show at the lower harbor ore dock on Tuesday, the 4th. Officials say it will offer residents with sensory issues—like veterans with PTSD—a way to join in the celebration.

Fresh Coast Light Lab has been tapped to design the display.

The Marquette County Exchange Club’s Food Fest will run July 2nd through the 4th at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. The annual parade takes place on Independence Day at 2 p.m.
