Celebrating Pride in Marquette this weekend

Pride Fest

MARQUETTE, MI— Pride Fest 2023 is coming to Marquette’s lower harbor Saturday.

The event is hosted by Upper Peninsula Rainbow Pride, a nonprofit that aims to create a safer, more supportive, and empowering Upper Peninsula for the LGBTQ+ community.

The festival—which begins at 1 p.m.—will feature music, food, art, nonprofit resources, games, vendors, and more. An open stage drag show starts at 2:30 p.m., and the main drag show at 8 p.m.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
