DNR's fall BOW program to be held October 11-13

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— Registration is now open for the fall edition of the Department of Natural Resources’ Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop in Marquette County.

The weekend workshop is for women 18 and older who want to improve their outdoor skills in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere.

The program offers instruction in more than a dozen different types of activities, including wilderness survival, fishing, mountain biking, shooting sports, birding, outdoor photography, and backpacking.

The workshop takes place October 11-13 at Bay Cliff Health Camp. Early registration is encouraged by going to www.michigan.gov/BOW.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
