Welcome back, UP200!

MARQUETTE, MI— After two years of warm winter weather and subsequent cancelations, the UP200, Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30 sled dog races are back.

Opening ceremonies begin Friday at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Marquette.

The UP200 starts at 7 p.m., with mushers leaving the start chute every two minutes.

The Midnight Run is slated to begin at 8:30 p.m., or half an hour after the last UP200 team leaves.

And the Jack Pine 30 takes off from the First Baptist Church in Gwinn at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
