MARQUETTE, MI— The City of Marquette is holding its Trash to Treasure weekend Friday through Sunday.
The purpose of the event is to recycle working household items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Examples include lamps, tables, chairs, and dishes. College students are encouraged to participate to find items for their dorms or apartments.
Residents can place their reusable items on the curb in front of their house no earlier than 5 p.m. on Friday. Unclaimed objects must be removed from the curb no later than 5 p.m. on Sunday. Any items left at the curb will be picked up by the Public Works Department, which will invoice the homeowner.
Anything that is not serviceable should not be offered to participants.
