ESCANABA, MI— Escanaba Public Safety officers were dispatched Sunday to an apartment building on a report of a fire.
Firefighters went to 2711 5th Avenue South and found the basement filled with smoke. They discovered an electric dryer on fire.
The flames were quickly extinguished. The building sustained minor smoke and water damage.
The building’s smoke detectors had alerted the occupants of the eight apartments.
No injuries were reported.
