PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, MI— Officials have found the body of a second person killed in a house fire in Houghton County Friday night.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a Portage Township residence around 9:15 p.m. on a report that two people were trapped inside. One person was confirmed deceased at the scene but the body of the second deceased person wasn’t found until later.
The identities of those who died are being withheld pending identification through autopsies scheduled later this week.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
