FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI— A Forsyth Township home was destroyed by fire Monday morning.
WLUC-TV says firefighters were called around 11:10 a.m. to County Road 565. The house was fully engulfed when they arrived.
The Department of Natural Resources was also called in when it appeared the flames were spreading to a nearby wooded area. But officials say only about a tenth of an acre of grass burned before it was brought under control.
All occupants were able to get out of the house, but a dog is believed to have perished in the fire. The family is being assisted by the Pigs-n-Heat Fire Relief Fund.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
