Police say Ishpeming Township fire could be arson

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, MI— Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post are investigating a fire at an Ishpeming Township house as possible arson.

It happened Friday evening at a residence on Silver Street. WLUC-TV says the back door of the house went up in flames, and the homeowner said he could smell gasoline.

No one was injured and there was minimal damage to the structure.

The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal and detectives from the Negaunee Post are investigating the incident as an arson. They’re asking anyone with information or video to contact them at 906-475-9922.
