Ishpeming Township house fire under investigation

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, MI— Police are investigating the cause of a house fire in Ishpeming Township.

Firefighters were dispatched around 3:20 a.m. Sunday to 175 Silver Street and found the house fully engulfed.

The two occupants of the house were able to escape. They were taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

In a Facebook post, Glenn’s Smokehouse indicated owner Glenn Andrews was injured in the fire. It said he’s in critical care.

The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal continues to investigate the cause of the fire.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
