Woman killed by Marinette house fire

MARINETTE, WI— A Marinette woman has died from injuries sustained in a house fire.

WLUK-TV says firefighters were dispatched Monday around 1:30 p.m. to 1212 Logan Avenue in the city. Crews found 58-year-old Susan Nielsen inside the residence. She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials do not believe foul play is involved.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
