ISHPEMING, MI— An Ishpeming garage was destroyed by fire Monday night.
The City of Ishpeming Fire Department was dispatched around 11:45 p.m. to the 1200 block of North Second Street. They discovered the fire started in the rear corner of the garage and quickly spread inside and across the back.
The fire was extinguished by about 10 minutes past midnight. Firefighters stayed at the scene for another half hour to extinguish any hotspots.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported. The garage is considered a total loss.
Assisting in the incident were the Ishpeming Police Department, Ishpeming Township Fire Department, Marquette County Central Dispatch, and UPPCO.
