CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI— Crews are fighting a wildfire in Chippewa County.
Sheriff’s officials say it’s located off Vermillion Road, north of the Vermillion and Dam Road intersection.
The Whitefish and Hulbert Township Fire Departments are at the scene, along with two Department of Natural Resources Fire units. The DNR brought bulldozers and air support to assist in firefighting efforts.
Michigan State Police and equipment from the Bay Mills Police Department are also at the scene.
At this time, it appears there is no danger to any homes.
The scene is still active and officials are asking residents to stay out of the area.
