No injuries in Marquette garage fire

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette garage has been destroyed by fire.

The Marquette City Fire Department was dispatched around 11 p.m. Sunday to 420 North Front Street. Firefighters found a detached garage fully engulfed.

Crews quickly knocked the fire down. They performed salvage and overhaul operations until just after 1 a.m.

A Marquette City Fire investigator will look into the cause of the fire.

Assisting in the incident were Marquette Township Fire, Chocolay Township Fire, the Marquette City Police Department, Marquette County Central Dispatch, UPHS-Marquette, the Marquette Board of Light and Power, and SEMCO.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
