Marquette tool shed destroyed by fire

MARQUETTE, MI— No one was injured in a Marquette structure fire Wednesday night.

City Fire Department crews were dispatched around 8:23 p.m. to 436 West Bluff and found heavy smoke and flames in the backyard area. A 6-foot by 12-foot tool shed was fully involved.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 10 minutes. Its cause is undetermined at this time.

The Marquette City Police Department and UPHS 141 crew assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
