Gladstone Public Safety called to fire on Michigan Avenue

GLADSTONE, MI— A Gladstone house was damaged by fire Monday.

The Gladstone Public Safety Department responded around 6:30 a.m. to a structure on Michigan Avenue. Smoke was coming out of the side of the house when they arrived. Firefighters had to break through the ceiling and attic to attack the fire.

The occupants and their cats were able to escape the home safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Rampart EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
