No one injured in Wells Township house fire

WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI— Fire has destroyed a two-story structure in Wells Township.

The Escanaba Department of Public Safety was called Sunday around 1:50 a.m. to 2853 16.5 Road and found the structure fully engulfed.

Firefighters were on the scene for 4.5 hours. The home was unoccupied at the time and is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.

Assisting in the incident were the Ford River Township, Escanaba Township, and Bark River Township fire departments, Rampart EMS, UPPCO, Delta County Central Dispatch, and JC Property Maintenance of Gladstone.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
