KINGSFORD, MI— One person was found dead following an apartment fire in Kingsford Saturday.
While on patrol, Kingsford Public Safety officers responded to the second floor 229 East Breitung Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Apartments on the first floor were evacuated. Officers then attacked flames on the second floor.
One person was found inside the apartment and was later pronounced dead. Their name is being withheld, pending notification of family.
The Michigan State Fire Investigator is helping to determine the cause of the fire.
