WI exotic dance club catches fire

GROVER, WI— A Marinette County exotic dance club has been damaged by fire.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Thursday around 12:30 a.m. to the Northpoint in the town of Grover. It was reported that flames were coming from the back of the building.

All of the building’s occupants were able to exit without injury.

The Grover-Porterfield Fire Department was able to quickly suppress the fire. Officials say it caused moderate damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations and the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting in the incident were the Peshtigo Police Department and Fire Department, the Town of Lake Fire Department, the Town of Pound Fire Department, Aurora-Bay Area Rescue, and Wisconsin Public Service.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
