ESCANABA, MI— Fire claimed the life of a family pet in Escanaba early Wednesday morning.
At 4:28 a.m., the Escanaba Department of Public Safety was dispatched to 3125 14th Avenue South and found a camper and vehicle fully engulfed.
Crews extinguished the fire fairly quickly. They remained at the scene for two hours to make sure the flames didn’t spread to nearby dwellings.
A man who was living in the trailer sustained minor injuries. A family pet did not survive.
Delta County Central Dispatch and the Ford River Fire Department assisted in the incident.
