HOMESTEAD TOWNSHIP, WI— A disabled woman had to be rescued from a Florence County, Wisconsin house fire Tuesday.
At 2:56 a.m., the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center was notified of a structure fire on County C in Homestead Township. The caller said the house was filling up with smoke, and he needed help getting his disabled wife out of the house.
A deputy arrived at the scene at 3:04 a.m. and carried the woman safely out. She and her husband were taken to Marshfield Medical Center Dickinson County for smoke inhalation.
The fire severely damaged the second floor of the house and water caused damage throughout the rest of the home.
