UNDATED - The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning is sponsoring a new traffic safety campaign to encourage Upper Peninsula residents to use more caution on winter roads. Officials are asking drivers to slow down in snow or icy driving conditions to reduce weather-related crashes, injuries and traffic deaths. The majority of winter driving crashes can be attributed to drivers going too fast for the roadway conditions. The effort is supported with Federal Traffic Safety Funds… and includes radio and TV public service announcements and flyers.
